Michelle Pugh, Owner, Senior Graphic Designer and Digital Art Teacher, established Joonbug Graphic Design in 2006. She graduated from The Art Institute of Seattle in 1998 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications. Michelle worked as a Senior Graphic Designer for the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commision from 2001 through 2017. Her professional experience is diverse, working for tribal organizations, newspapers, marketing firms, non-profits and government agencies for over 25 years creating designs for print and web. Michelle enjoys designing logos, websites, publications and other products using the Adobe Creative Suite, ProCreate, Squarespace, painting and hand drawn illustrations.
She also enjoys teaching and traveling to various locations. Michelle shares digital art classes at the Nisqually Tribe Language Program, teaches herbal plant classes at the Chehalis Tribe Community Center Native Pathways suicide prevention program and shares weekly yoga classes at various tribal organizations, Alderbrook Resort and Spa and other private venues via her yoga business, Joonbug Yoga. Michelle designs, illustrates and teaches people of all ages how to tap into their own creative story by sharing her knowledge of how to utilize digital art programs and processes.
She enjoys spending time with her family and helping others shine! Michelle hopes that her love of nature, art, health, wellness and community inspires others to share their own authentic creativity through visual and digital art, music, movement, and plant knowledge experiences. She believes everyone is an artist!
